Heat is returning to mainland Portugal after several gray and rainy days. Weather conditions will improve significantly in the coming weeks.

The last days of August and the first days of September promise dry weather, sun and a gradual rise in temperatures throughout the country.

In some regions of mainland Portugal, temperatures could exceed 35 degrees, providing ideal conditions for those who want to enjoy the beach at the end of summer.

Storms cause three deaths and roof damage in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina

Three people died as a result of the storms that hit Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina this weekend. A child died after a tree fell on a residence in Porto Alegre during a storm on Friday, a passenger was swept away by the current in Arroio Grande, and a 39-year-old woman was struck by lightning while on the beach at Pinheira, in Palhoça, in the Greater Florianópolis region. The storms also caused roof damage to homes in several municipalities across both states, with Rio Grande do Sul's Civil Defense counting 21 affected municipalities.
