PS/Açores demands that the Regional Government pay the 3ME promised to fishermen

The leader of PS/Açores, Francisco César, today demanded that the Regional Government of the Azores proceed with the rapid payment of the three million euros promised to Azorean fishermen. This demand comes after the promise was made in March but has yet to be fulfilled.

The three million euro amount was announced by the regional executive as a measure to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on the operating costs of Azorean fishermen. Francisco César emphasized that this financial aid is urgent and necessary to support the fishing sector in the region.

Francisco César criticized the government's inaction, stating that "the government cannot stand by" while Azorean fishermen face fuel costs higher than those in Madeira. This price disparity puts professionals in the sector at a competitive disadvantage compared to Madeiran fishermen.
