Elements of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Setúbal recently seized a recreational vessel with Polish flag that was anchored in the Palma channel, in the municipality of Alcácer do Sal.
The seizure resulted from an inspection operation carried out in the Sado estuary, during which the Maritime Police detected the vessel without any crew on board.
The authorities verified that the vessel had engines without serial numbers, which raised suspicions and led to the opening of a criminal case.
The Central Unit for Criminal Investigation of the Maritime Police was activated to carry out the necessary forensic examinations for the investigation of the case.
Os elementos do Comando Local da Polícia Marítima de Setúbal apreenderam, recentemente, uma embarcação de recreio, de bandeira polaca, que se encontrava fundeada no canal de Palma, no concelho de Alcácer do Sal.
Em comunicado a Autoridade Marítima Nacional refere que “na sequência de uma ação de fiscalização no estuário do Sado, a Polícia Marítima detetou a embarcação fundeada, sem tripulantes e com motores sem número de série.”
A embarcação foi apreendida e instaurado o respetivo processo crime, tendo a Unidade Central de Investigação Criminal (UCIC) da Polícia Marítima sido ativada para efetuar as respetivas perícias.
