The Notting Hill Carnival celebrates its 60th anniversary, a significant milestone for this cultural celebration that was born six decades ago. Euronews Culture decided to mark the occasion by interviewing ten people who played fundamental roles in the history of the event, including those who helped shape, celebrate and document this culture over the years.
These Carnival veterans were asked to choose one musical track that, in each person's opinion, best represents and captures the spirit of this festival. The choices of these participants offer a unique perspective on the essence of the event and what it means to the community.
The Notting Hill Carnival is one of the largest cultural celebrations in the UK, with deep roots in London's Caribbean community. Over six decades, the event has evolved and grown, becoming an important symbol of diversity and cultural expression.
