Marítimo suffered this Saturday their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 against Arouca, in a match referring to the 4th round of the Portuguese I Liga football. The encounter took place at the Municipal Stadium of Arouca, in front of only 117 Madeiran supporters who made the trip from Madeira to support the island team.

The green-and-reds started well in the match and created some of the best goal-scoring opportunities in the first minutes. Martín Tejón was one of the most dangerous elements of the Marítimo team, having been close to scoring at five and 17 minutes of play, but found goalkeeper Arruabarrena in front of him, who managed to stop his attempts.
