The flood of water, ice, mud, rocks and debris hit Nepal and Tibet on Wednesday, destroying towns and infrastructure on both sides of the border. The natural disaster caused a tragedy of great proportions in the Himalayan region.
The number of confirmed deaths is at least 600 people. In addition, more than 2,000 people are missing, including three Portuguese citizens who were in the region at the time of the catastrophe.
The Nepal government has already requested international support to rebuild the affected areas. The help is needed to recover the destroyed infrastructure and assist the populations affected by this disaster.
