After António Silva, Tiago Pinto wants to take another star from Benfica to Bournemouth

Glorioso 1904 – Se é notícia do Benfica, está aqui29 August 2026 at 13:50

Bournemouth is preparing to return to the Portuguese market after already securing António Silva this summer. The English club, managed by Andoni Iraola, expressed interest in Richard Ríos, a Colombian midfielder from Benfica who has attracted the attention of several European clubs in this final stretch of the transfer window.

António Silva moved to England last August, in a transfer valued at 25 million euros. The possibility of Ríos joining the Portuguese centre-back at Bournemouth adds an additional attraction factor for the player, who would thus have a familiar face in the Cherries' dressing room.

Bournemouth's interest comes at a complicated time for Ríos at the Luz. The Benfica coach has prioritized the midfield pairing of Enzo Barrenechea and Leandro Barreiro, leaving the Colombian with few opportunities to play. The situation could worsen further with the imminent arrival of João Palhinha, who should drastically reduce the space available for Ríos in the red and white eleven.

Besides Bournemouth, other clubs have expressed interest in the 24-year-old midfielder. Galatasaray, Roma and Getafe appear as contenders in the race for the player, which could facilitate a negotiation if Benfica decides to open the exit door.
