Narana Sinai Coissoró has died, historic leader and former president of CDS-PP, aged 94. The death was confirmed by the party through a statement of condolence.
Born in Goa on October 3, 1931, Coissoró graduated in Law from the University of Coimbra and obtained his doctorate from the University of London. He was a lawyer and retired full professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences.
Coissoró's parliamentary career was extensive. He was a deputy to the Assembly of the Republic in eight legislatures and led the CDS Parliamentary Group for more than a decade, between 1978 and 1991. He was also vice-president of the Assembly of the Republic between 1999 and 2005.

Nascido em Goa, a 3 de outubro de 1931, Narana Coissoró licenciou-se em Direito pela Universidade de Coimbra e doutorou-se pela Universidade de Londres. Foi advogado e professor catedrático jubilado do Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP).
Coissoró teve um longo percurso parlamentar. Foi deputado à Assembleia da República em oito legislaturas e liderou o Grupo Parlamentar do CDS durante mais de uma década, entre 1978 e 1991.
Foi também vice-presidente da Assembleia da República entre 1999 e 2005.
