Council will award gold medals to former presidents

The Municipal Council approved in a council meeting the awarding of gold medals to former presidents of the municipality. The proposal aims to recognize and pay tribute to figures who held leadership positions in the local authority.

The honored former presidents are Ângelo Albergaria Pacheco, José Guerreiro de Almeida and Leonel Rosa da Silveira. These four individuals were distinguished for their contribution to the development and management of the municipality throughout their terms.

The distinction also includes Raulino Anselmo, to whom the medal will be awarded posthumously. This decision recognizes the legacy left by this former president who has already passed away.

The awarding of these gold medals represents the chosen method by the municipality to honor those who held leadership positions in the local authority and contributed to local governance.
