SNS with 10.77 million enrolled users, family doctor coverage at 87%

The National Health Service has completed the classification of the National User Register, currently having 10.77 million enrolled users. This number represents the total of citizens registered in the Portuguese public health system.

Family doctor coverage reaches 87% of the population enrolled in the SNS. This means the vast majority of users have access to an assigned family doctor, although a significant portion still does not have this regular medical follow-up.

The two new indicators related to the National User Register will become available on the Transparency Portal at the end of the month. This data will be updated monthly, allowing for more transparent and regular monitoring of the SNS evolution.
