Official! 6 years later, Rui Costa brings winger back to Benfica

Josephine Filipe is returning to Benfica's women's basketball team, six years after representing the eagles in the 2019/20 season. The forward/center, aged 30, arrives from Spanish club Al-Qázeres and signed a contract valid until 2028.

In statements to BTV, the player expressed her happiness at the return, stating that when they contacted her she was very pleased. Filipe mentioned that she has been following Benfica's evolution over the years and that she wanted to help the team continue to win titles and extend the European campaign.

The athlete will reunite with several teammates from the National Team, including Maria João Bettencourt. The player also mentioned that she expects demanding and very competitive training sessions on a daily basis, highlighting the quality of the colleagues she usually works with on the national team.
