The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, announced this Friday, in Lisbon, that Portugal fully executed its Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) at 100%, as planned by Brussels.
At the press conference, the official warned that there will be less European fund money available in the future. Portugal will need to learn to live with fewer resources coming from the European Union.
Castro Almeida argued that the country needs to channel a larger share of the State Budget to investment, in order to compensate for the reduction in European funds. The minister considered that Portugal should prepare to dedicate a significant part of the National Budget to structural investments.
