The Digital Pedagogical Villages project continues to bring technology closer to the older populations of the villages of Aveleda, Varge and Rio de Onor, in the municipality of Bragança. During the months of July and August, the team maintained support for participants, including through home visits, helping with the use of tablets and the discovery of new tools.
Among the activities already incorporated into users' routines are calls, video calls, music, games, physical exercise, recipes and information lookup. The usage time of the devices increased significantly between January and July, rising from about 259 to 940 monthly hours, with July recording the highest value to date.
The project focuses on simple and close-to-home use of technology, promoting participants' autonomy, contact with family members and participation in the community, while also helping to combat the social isolation of these villages' populations.
The activities also include community workshops, such as those held around lavender, which brought together participants from all three villages to recover traditional knowledge and share moments of fellowship and exchange.
