Augusto Cury in interview: STF reform and heavy taxation of big techs

extra29 August 2026 at 09:00

Psychiatrist and writer Augusto Cury (Avante party), a presidential candidate with no prior elected office, participated in an interview with O Globo and Valor newspapers and CBN radio, avoiding classifying himself as right or left, but defending ideas more aligned with the right. He considered some sentences of those convicted for the January 8, 2023 acts excessive, but did not commit to amnesty, saying he would create a commission of legal experts to evaluate possible injustices. Cury was more critical of the Lula government than of Bolsonaroism and also spoke about STF reform and heavy taxation of big techs.
