The president of the United States Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, warned this Friday that inflation remains very high and suggested that the American central bank may need to raise interest rates in the coming months to reduce it. The warning was given in the first speech at the Fed's annual conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Warsh conveyed a clearer signal than he had previously given about his economic outlook, showing concern about the current situation. The president of the Federal Reserve acknowledged that recent inflation data shows a slight cooling, but noted that this data does not indicate that underlying trends are improving significantly.
