Sporting thrashed Rio Ave 4-0 in Vila do Conde, in a match where all goals were scored in the first half. The visiting team showed clear superiority from the start of the match, building a comfortable lead before halftime.

Flávio Gonçalves opened the scoring at 5 minutes, establishing early on the lions' superiority. Geny Catamo was the author of the second goal of the night, contributing to the growing advantage of the Lisbon team.
