The Civil Police are investigating a shooting attack that left two people shot on Thursday in the Terreirão community, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The shots were fired by unidentified men inside a barbershop and the shooters, who were on a motorcycle, fled the scene right after the crime.
One of the injured is former football player Vitor Silva Honorato, 37 years old, better known as Vítor Faíska. He was inside the establishment when the shots were fired and was rescued and taken to Hospital Lourenço Jorge, in Barra da Tijuca.
Vítor Faíska played for several clubs throughout his career, including América, Boavista and Sampaio Corrêa, in addition to playing in Latvian football in Europe. The player was recently presented to play for América in 2024.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the attack and seeking to identify those responsible for the shots. The former player's health condition was not reported in the article.
