Eleven Moroccan citizens were expelled from Ceuta after being detained for ambushing a military police patrol vehicle in Benzú, an area near the land border between Ceuta and Morocco.
Twelve people were detained following this attack against the military. Of these twelve detained people, eleven pleaded guilty before trial and accepted a court agreement that allowed them to avoid serving prison sentences.
The Spanish authorities proceeded with the expulsion of these eleven Moroccan citizens from Spanish territory as a measure derived from the judicial process.
The incident occurred in Benzú, an area that borders Moroccan territory, where situations of tension related to irregular migration crossing attempts have been recorded.
