Young Luís Campino died at the age of 24 last Friday, August 28, from a lymphoma that had been recently diagnosed. His death came to put the municipality of Cartaxo in mourning, in particular the local bullfighting community.
Luís Campino was the grandson of the bull embolizer Luís Campino, a widely recognized figure throughout Portuguese bullfighting. The young man thus followed a family tradition of great prestige in the bullfighting world.
His untimely death caused great consternation among bullfighting circles, with numerous bullrings where his grandfather left his mark. The bullfighting community of Cartaxo lost one of its young rising stars, at a time when his career was beginning to develop.
