Former US president Donald Trump failed again in his attempt to annul his conviction for payment to a porn actress. Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein reiterated his previous decision against the Republican, rejecting the arguments presented by Trump's defense.
The judge indicated that the reasons put forward by Trump "are neither new nor legally sufficient" to justify the annulment of the conviction. Hellerstein added that the former president "did not demonstrate good cause nor diligence" in the process.
The conviction relates to payments made to Stormy Daniels, the porn actress with whom Trump allegedly had an extramarital affair before the 2016 presidential elections. The case has been dragging through the courts, with Trump's defense trying on several occasions to challenge the sentence.
