Hezbollah in Lebanon again rejects agreement with Israel and refuses to "surrender"

Expresso28 August 2026 at 22:56

The Hezbollah leader reaffirmed today that he rejects the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, guaranteeing that the pro-Iranian movement refuses to "surrender". This position was expressed despite the group being weakened after two wars with the Israeli army.

The Lebanese Shiite movement, supported by Iran, thus maintains its confrontational posture against Israel, refusing any type of agreement it considers harmful to its interests or that would mean capitulation.

The Hezbollah's firmness contrasts with its current military situation, after conflicts that resulted in significant losses for the organization. Even so, the leader of the movement insisted on the continuity of his ideological and political position.

This new positioning of Hezbollah represents a significant obstacle to any attempt at peace negotiation between the two countries, maintaining tension in the border region between Lebanon and Israel.

Analysis: Augusto Cury's diagnosis during the hearing is convincing. The remedy, not

The analysis highlights that candidate Augusto Cury made the most precise diagnosis among those who went through the hearing by newspapers O GLOBO and Valor and radio station CBN, identifying that Brazilians are tired of living in permanent election mode and are looking for someone who "turns down the volume." His messages about "adversaries not being enemies" and having "capitalist mind and social heart" were well received. However, the text questions whether Cury can present solutions on par with the diagnosis, pointing out that although he has ideas about changing the Supreme Court, integrating security forces, and improving the relationship between the Executive and Congress, there is still a gap between his convictions and execution capability.
