Rio de Janeiro's Justice published this Friday the call that opens the competitive process for the sale of Vasco's SAF control. The document was issued by the 4th Business Court of the Capital, where the club's judicial recovery is being processed, under the responsibility of Judge Victor Agustin Cunha Jaccoud Diz Torres. The dispute will be for the so-called UPI Equity, which represents 90% of the share capital and voting power of a new SAF, which will be formed from the club's current structure.

The publication of the call allows other interested parties to submit proposals in the process. The first bidder has already submitted a binding proposal, whose terms now serve as the minimum benchmark for the competition. This is Marcos Lamacchia, from Almirante Participações, who had previously made the proposal and now has his terms defined as the baseline for the bidding process.

The main commitment assumed by Lamacchia is an investment of R$ 500 million in football, divided into five annual installments of R$ 100 million. The money cannot be used to pay debts and must be destined exclusively for football, including the hiring and maintenance of players and sports infrastructure.

Electricity bill: tariff flag remains yellow in September, Aneel decides

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) decided to maintain the yellow tariff flag for September, meaning electricity consumers will face an additional cost of R$ 1.885 per 100 kWh consumed. The yellow flag has been in effect since May, reflecting less favorable energy generation conditions in the country due to the dry season, which reduces water levels in hydroelectric reservoirs and requires the activation of more expensive thermal power plants. The tariff flag system, adopted in 2015, functions as a transparency tool for consumers to monthly monitor energy generation conditions.

Habib's: high interest rates are not the only cause of judicial recovery

Judicial recovery requests have soared in 2026 in Brazil, including big names like Casas Bahia, Marabraz, Braskem, GPA and Havanna. According to specialists, high interest rates are not the only cause, but rather the combination of multiple factors: restricted credit, high debt levels, high costs, changes in consumption habits and outdated business models. Lawyer Camila Nicolau Juliano highlights that, within the judicial recovery processes, there are viable companies suffocated by interest rates, businesses with outdated models, and companies that accumulated debt during periods of cheap credit and now cannot meet their commitments.

⛽ Government reduces discount on ISP on diesel and gasoline

The Portuguese Government reduced the extraordinary discount on the Excise Duty on Petroleum Products (ISP) applied to road fuels, which will result in less pronounced price drops next week. The discount on diesel decreases from 81.61 to 71.63 euros per 1,000 liters, while on gasoline it drops from 53.98 to 51.62 euros per 1,000 liters. This decision comes at a time when the Executive anticipates price drops for both fuels, adjusting weekly the support mechanism for consumers implemented due to the war in the Middle East, which keeps fuels above the ten-cent threshold defined in relation to March prices. The Brent barrel closed this Friday down 0.43%, at $89.31.
