Business delinquency in Brazil reached a new record, with 9.1 million businesses with negative credit status according to Serasa Experian data, representing another warning sign of the difficulties faced by businesses and families, according to CNC's assessment. Central Bank data indicates that delinquency among businesses reached, in June, the highest level for the month in nine years.
The majority of CNPJs with negative status belong to micro and small businesses, which are precisely those with the least margin to withstand an adverse economic environment. This scenario places these businesses in an even more vulnerable situation in the face of economic difficulties.
The Consumer Indebtedness and Delinquency Survey (Peic), conducted by CNC, has recorded high levels of indebtedness and delinquency among consumers throughout this year. In July, 82% of families were in debt, which significantly reduces space in the household budget for consumption beyond basic needs.
According to CNC, the scenario represents a direct warning for business owners, indicating lower demand and greater difficulty in accessing credit.
