PL presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro gathered bankers and businessmen at a dinner at the home of former Credit Suisse Brasil CEO Marcelo Kayath in Sao Paulo on Thursday. The goal of the encounter was to strengthen ties with a market that still views his candidacy with skepticism. The dinner was considered positive and relaxed by people present, but it also served for the candidate to be questioned about points of his government plan.

Before the guests, economic advisor Daniella Marques detailed the campaign proposals. The senator himself gave a speech of about ten minutes about his proposals, with emphasis on the economic area. During the event, Flavio promised to shield the economic team from party appointments, seeking to transmit confidence to the businessmen present.

The candidate also admitted to choosing ministers with political profiles to facilitate relations with the National Congress. Regarding the Judiciary, he defended pacification with the Supreme Federal Court, stating that conflicts between branches of government need to be resolved through politics.

Livre respects Constitutional Court decision, but maintains criticism of asylum law

The Livre party announced that it respects the decision of the Constitutional Court that considered constitutional the norms of the diploma on granting asylum and return of foreigners, but reiterated its criticisms of the law. Deputy Paulo Muacho stated that the fact that the CC did not declare the law unconstitutional does not mean it is a good law, highlighting concerns about the possibility of detention and expulsion of migrant children. The party also believes there is room for political veto by the President of the Republic. The CC decision came after Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa requested preventive review of the decree approved by the Assembly of the Republic in July, which includes the extension of the temporary installation period to 180 days, possibility of separation of parents and children, and expulsion of minors.
