Bayeux Tapestry: Macron inaugurates exhibition in London next Wednesday

President Emmanuel Macron will inaugurate next Wednesday an exhibition of the Bayeux Tapestry in London. The Élysée described the moment as "especially significant" and highlighted that it was the president's wish to strengthen the Franco-British relationship.

Macron intends in this way to "highlight" what is described as an "exceptional loan" of the Bayeux Tapestry. The decision to lend the historical work was made by the French president himself in 2025.

The Bayeux Tapestry is one of the most emblematic pieces of European medieval history, depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066. The loan of this work to London represents a significant gesture in the relations between France and the United Kingdom.
