The party Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) accused the Regional Government of Madeira of serious failures in social response. The accusation comes following the decision to transfer 30 patients with complex discharge needs to Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS).
JPP considers that this measure is a reflection of a breakdown in Madeira's health system. The party emphasizes that the transfer was adopted exclusively to try to avoid mass cancellations of surgeries at SESARAM, the regional public hospital.
According to JPP, this situation results from years of mismanagement and lack of planning on the part of the Regional Executive. The party also points to a total incompetence in creating adequate social responses in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
