The PCP today accused Coimbra City Hall of worsening existing problems in the city's downtown with the recent changes to traffic circulation implemented in the historic zone.
The communist party considers that the changes implemented by the municipal executive create additional difficulties for residents and workers in the downtown area, worsening their daily lives.
The accusation comes at a time of tension between the PCP and the PSD/CDS-PP majority that governs Coimbra City Hall, with the party arguing that the traffic changes were not designed for the benefit of those who live and work in that area of the city.
The municipal executive has not yet publicly commented on the accusations made by the PCP regarding these changes to the circulation in Coimbra's downtown.
