Catarina Sobral wins National Illustration Award for the work 'As pessoas são esquisitas'

Catarina Sobral was the winner of the National Illustration Award with the work "As pessoas são esquisitas". This prize annually recognizes the best illustration work of a book published in Portugal.

Catarina Sobral's illustrations were distinguished by the competition jury, which evaluated the competing works according to criteria of artistic quality and creativity.

Catarina Alves received a Special Mention for her visual contribution to the book "Natália Correia: Entre o riso e a paixão", recognizing the merit of her illustration work.

Madalena Matoso was also distinguished with a Special Mention for the illustrations in the book "Fantasmas", thus completing the set of recognitions awarded in this edition of the prize.

Sesc Literature Prize announces winners of the 2026 edition, which had a record number of entries

The Sesc Literature Prize announced the winners of the 2026 edition, which registered a historic record of registrations with 2,969 competing works. In the romance category, Mariana do Nascimento Ramos, from the Federal District, won with "The Will of Dead Things"; in short story, the prize went to Anacã Agra, from Paraíba, with "The Replication of Blood"; and in poetry, Guilherme de Miranda Ramos, from Alagoas, took the title with "Geography of Discomfort". Focused exclusively on unpublished authors, the prize will publish the winning works through Editora Senac Rio and distribute R$ 30 thousand to each author.
