Two Portuguese brothers were located safely in Nepal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed. They were the two Portuguese citizens reported missing on Thursday, after the devastating flash floods that affected Nepal and Tibet.
However, the total count of missing Portuguese in the country rose to three, as two new disappearances were reported. The MFA confirmed this information in a note sent to the Portuguese news agency.
The flash floods that ravaged the region caused nearly 600 deaths, according to the provisional count. The natural catastrophe caused significant destruction in several areas of Nepal and Tibet, on the border with China.
Portuguese authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide consular assistance to national citizens affected by this tragedy.
