Seven months after storm Kristin passed through Marinha Grande, residents of Praceta da Liberdade continue with their damaged homes and without any response from the town hall. In statements to NOW, resident António Cunha expressed his displeasure at the situation, questioning where the State money that arrived at the municipality was applied.
António Cunha, who lives in Praceta da Liberdade with his sick wife, denounced the progressive degradation of his house and criticized the municipality's inaction. The resident considered that the promises made by the authorities were not fulfilled, considering that it was all just lies.
The resident also warned about the risks that the arrival of winter represents for the affected families, fearing that the situation will worsen with the new rains and storms characteristic of the cold season. The homes continue in poor condition, without the necessary repair works having been carried out.
Storm Kristin hit Marinha Grande seven months ago, causing significant damage in the Praceta da Liberdade area. Since then, residents have been waiting for support from local authorities to rebuild their homes, but so far have not received any concrete response from the municipality.
