Psychiatrist Augusto Cury, candidate for President for the Avante party, defended in an interview conducted by GLOBO, CBN and Valor the opening of dialogue with the bloc known as Centrão. On that occasion, he classified the group as a defender of political "equilibrium" in the country.
During the interview, Augusto Cury stated that, precisely because of this positioning of Centrão, Brazil never "radicalized to become Venezuela". The candidate made the statement when questioned about the relationship with the parliamentary bloc.
The presidential candidate also declared that he does not see himself as a threat "to the left or to the right", seeking a non-partisan position. He proposed the creation of a national pact to govern the country intelligently, without partisanship.
