A Military Police operation in Senador Camará, in the West Zone of Rio, on this Friday, caused the closure of 42 schools — 38 municipal and 4 state. Eight Primary Care units and a Psychosocial Care Center, all of the municipality, also suspended operations. Two other units are not carrying out external activities, such as home visits.
Estrada do Taquaral, one of the main roads in the region, was closed by bandits with two trucks. There are also detours on four bus routes due to the conflict in the area.
The spokesperson for the PM, lieutenant colonel Cláudia Moraes, explained in an interview to RJ1, of TV Globo, that an atypical movement of bandits in Senador Camará was identified. According to her, these criminals are linked to the Third Pure Command (TCP), a criminal organization that operates in the region.
