A seagull recovered by RIAS – Centre for the Recovery and Research of Wild Animals was returned to nature during an environmental awareness activity held at Fuseta-Ria beach, in Olhão, under the Blue Flag programme. The initiative was promoted by the Municipality of Olhão in collaboration with RIAS and took place during the month of August.
The activity allowed participants to learn about the work carried out by the centre throughout the year in the recovery and protection of wild fauna, as well as reflect on the importance of preserving ecosystems and biodiversity. The youngest participants were among the most enthusiastic, following the explanations and proposed activities with curiosity.
The most outstanding moment was the release of the seagull recovered by RIAS, which returned to its natural habitat in front of the participants. The initiative also aimed to bring children closer to nature and reinforce the importance of environmental education, encouraging more conscious and responsible behaviours in the protection of biodiversity from an early age.
Uma gaivota recuperada pelo RIAS – Centro de Recuperação e Investigação de Animais Selvagens foi devolvida à natureza durante uma atividade de sensibilização ambiental realizada na praia da Fuseta-Ria, em Olhão, no âmbito do programa Bandeira Azul.
Promovida pelo Município de Olhão, em colaboração com o RIAS, a iniciativa decorreu durante o mês de agosto e procurou dar a conhecer o trabalho desenvolvido pelo centro na recuperação e proteção da fauna selvagem.
A atividade permitiu aos participantes conhecer melhor o trabalho realizado pelo RIAS ao longo do ano e refletir sobre a importância da preservação dos ecossistemas e da biodiversidade.
Os mais pequenos foram alguns dos participantes mais entusiastas, tendo acompanhado com curiosidade as diferentes explicações e atividades propostas.
O momento de maior destaque aconteceu com a libertação de uma gaivota recuperada pelo RIAS, que voltou ao seu habitat natural perante os participantes.
A iniciativa pretendeu ainda aproximar as crianças da natureza e reforçar a importância da educação ambiental, incentivando desde cedo comportamentos mais conscientes e responsáveis na proteção da biodiversidade.
