The Humanitary Association of Volunteer Firefighters of the Municipality of Penalva do Castelo is the organizing entity of the fifth edition of the Soup Festival, which will take place on September 13, 2026, Sunday. The event aims to bring together gastronomy, tradition, culture and fellowship in a single celebration. In addition to the festive component, the festival also has a charitable dimension, dedicating part of its proceeds to support the firefighters' corporation. The Municipality of Penalva do Castelo is the host of this initiative, which seeks to establish itself as a memorable moment in the local calendar.

The Sesc Literature Prize announced the winners of the 2026 edition, which registered a historic record of registrations with 2,969 competing works. In the romance category, Mariana do Nascimento Ramos, from the Federal District, won with "The Will of Dead Things"; in short story, the prize went to Anacã Agra, from Paraíba, with "The Replication of Blood"; and in poetry, Guilherme de Miranda Ramos, from Alagoas, took the title with "Geography of Discomfort". Focused exclusively on unpublished authors, the prize will publish the winning works through Editora Senac Rio and distribute R$ 30 thousand to each author.
