Budget halfway there: Government has already secured two of Carneiro's conditions

The PS leader set four prior conditions to support the State Budget for the next year. These conditions were presented as essential for the socialist party to vote in favor or abstain in the voting of the document.

The CDS-PP leader, Luís Montenegro, and the Economy minister have already guaranteed compliance with two of these conditions. This advance represents half the path taken in the negotiations between the government and the PS.

The conditions set by the PS are related to economic and social policy measures that the party considers indispensable for the Budget. The government is thus seeking to secure sufficient support for the approval of the document.

Negotiations continue to satisfy the remaining conditions of the PS. The executive needs to secure the necessary votes for the approval of the State Budget.
