São Brás de Alportel received on August 9 the first edition of "Trail Entre a Serra e o Mar", a sporting event that combined physical activity with the discovery and enhancement of the main natural scenery of the municipality. The race took participants through existing trails in the area, providing an experience marked by Algarve landscapes and direct contact with nature.
The event was organized by the Associação Cultural Sambrasense, with support from the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, the Algarve Athletics Association and the Parish Council of São Brás de Alportel. The initiative sought to strengthen the connection between sport, nature and the promotion of the local territory.
The mayor of São Brás de Alportel, Marlene Guerreiro, attended the trophy ceremony and highlighted the importance of this first edition, considering it a fundamental investment in the territory's potential. The mayor stressed that initiatives that combine physical activity, nature and socializing contribute to raising awareness of the municipality and enhancing the trails available for this type of activity.
The trophy ceremony was also attended by the vice-president and sports councilor, Pedro Ornelas, councilor Mónica Inácio, and the president of the Municipal Assembly, Vítor Guerreiro. With this first edition, the aim was to mark the debut of an initiative that seeks to promote São Brás de Alportel through sport and landscape enhancement.
São Brás de Alportel recebeu, a 9 de agosto, a primeira edição do “Trail Entre a Serra e o Mar”, uma prova que juntou desporto e natureza e levou os participantes a percorrer alguns dos principais cenários naturais do concelho.
Organizada pela Associação Cultural Sambrasense, com o apoio do Município de São Brás de Alportel, da Associação de Atletismo do Algarve e da Junta de Freguesia de São Brás de Alportel, a iniciativa procurou aliar a prática desportiva à descoberta e valorização do território.
Com a serra e o mar como pano de fundo, o percurso proporcionou aos participantes uma experiência marcada pelas paisagens algarvias e pelo contacto direto com a natureza, dando a conhecer alguns dos trilhos existentes no concelho.
No final da prova, a presidente da Câmara Municipal de São Brás de Alportel, Marlene Guerreiro, destacou a importância da realização da primeira edição do evento.
“Foi muito importante ver concretizada esta primeira edição do Trail Entre a Serra e o Mar, uma aposta fundamental no potencial do nosso território, vivido através do desporto”, afirmou a autarca.
Marlene Guerreiro sublinhou ainda que iniciativas que conjugam “atividade física, natureza e convívio” contribuem para dar a conhecer São Brás de Alportel e valorizar “a nossa paisagem e os trilhos que estão ao dispor destas atividades”.
A cerimónia de entrega dos troféus contou com a presença da presidente da Câmara, Marlene Guerreiro, do vice-presidente e responsável pelo pelouro do Desporto, Pedro Ornelas, da vereadora Mónica Inácio e do presidente da Assembleia Municipal, Vítor Guerreiro.
A primeira edição do Trail Entre a Serra e o Mar marcou, assim, a estreia de uma iniciativa que pretende reforçar a ligação entre o desporto, a natureza e a promoção do território de São Brás de Alportel.
