Portuguese footwear exports recorded a 2.1% decline in the first half, year-on-year, totaling 813 million euros, according to data announced by the sectoral association APICCAPS.
The decrease in international sales of Portuguese footwear occurred in a context of "general slowdown in global footwear trade", as stated by the association representing the sector.
APICCAPS, the association responsible for communicating these data, highlighted that the drop in exports is in line with the global trend of slowdown in the footwear market, without specifying other factors that may have contributed to the negative result.
