Augusto Cury avoids defining himself as a right or left-wing politician: 'Capitalist mind and social heart'

Presidential candidate Augusto Cury (Avante) participated in a forum organized by O GLOBO, CBN and Valor, in which he reiterated that he does not identify with either the right or the left, avoiding taking an ideological position. Newly arrived in the electoral race, the writer and psychiatrist again criticized the country's political polarization.

During the forum, Cury argued that problems such as violence, education and unemployment have no "ideological color." The candidate repeated rehearsed phrases that have become almost mantras in his public speeches, including the claim that more than 90% of society's pains have no ideological coloring.

As examples to illustrate his argument, Augusto Cury mentioned situations such as the murder of women, people with autism and the loss of authority of teachers in the classroom, stating that none of these pains are right or left.

Cury summarized his political position with the phrase "capitalist mind and social heart," seeking to reconcile a market economic view with social concerns, thus differentiating himself from candidates aligned with more defined positions on the traditional political spectrum.
