Minor involved in gang rape of 13-year-old girl subjected to 'drug trafficking tribunal' is apprehended

Civil police officers from the Women's Assistance Unit (Deam) of São João de Meriti apprehended on Thursday a teenager involved in the collective rape of a 13-year-old girl in Baixada Fluminense. The minor was located in Nova Iguaçu and is one of seven suspects identified by the investigations into the crime, which occurred in February of this year.

The victim was subjected to the so-called "drug trafficking tribunal" of the Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), a criminal faction that operates in the region. One of the identified suspects was killed by bandits and another remains missing, according to police.

The investigations revealed that the teenager lived near the Trio do Ouro community, territory controlled by the TCP, and frequented the area because she had relatives there. The drug traffickers mistook the victim for another girl who would be the girlfriend of a criminal from Comando Vermelho (CV), rival of the TCP, which is believed to have motivated the crime.
