The Thai government approved new immigration laws that allow the expulsion of problematic tourists from the country. The rules cover various infractions, including staying in the country after the visa expiration, illegal work, use of false documents, among other violations.
Thai authorities have been granted broader powers to deport foreigners who fail to comply with migratory regulations. The measure aims to better control the flow of visitors and curb illegal activities carried out by tourists in the national territory.
Affected tourists may be removed from the country without the right to immediate appeal, according to the new legal provisions established. The authorities did not inform when the new rules take effect.
