ALF meets in Lisbon with Chinese companies in the automotive and financial sectors

The initiative comes a few days before World Electric Vehicle Day and is part of China's growing prominence in electric vehicle production. ALF's president, Luís Augusto, highlighted that mobility transformation is bringing together sectors that were traditionally analyzed separately, and this reception represents an opportunity to identify areas of cooperation between the two markets.

Typhoons in China threaten tire supply in Brazil

The Brazilian Association of Tire Importers and Distributors (ABIDIP) warned that recent typhoons in China and congestion at major Asian ports are pressuring tire supply in Brazil. The freight for a 40-foot container rose from about $3,000 to between $8,000 and $9,500, and ports such as Shanghai and Ningbo temporarily suspended operations. More than 800 ships remained anchored awaiting favorable weather conditions, affecting approximately 2.4 million TEUs, with congestion buildup near 400,000 TEUs at Chinese terminals.
