Egg consumption in Brazil is expected to reach 301 units per capita in 2026, according to projections from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). If the estimate is confirmed, the result will establish a new record for the country and represent growth of up to 4.5% over the 288 units recorded in 2025.
The change gains dimension when compared to the beginning of the previous decade. Data from the former Brazilian Poultry Association (UBABEF) shows that, in 2010, average consumption was 148.85 eggs per Brazilian. By 2025, the cumulative increase reached approximately 93.5%.
The growth in consumption is accompanied by the expansion of production. ABPA estimates that Brazil will produce up to 64.8 billion eggs in 2026, a volume 4.1% higher than the 62.253 billion units produced in 2025.
The trajectory of recent decades shows a change in the space occupied by the food in the Brazilian diet, which went from just under 150 annual units per person, in 2010, to a projection above 300 units in 2026.
