EU agri-food trade surplus rises to €23.9 billion in first half of the year

The EU's agri-food trade surplus increased to €23.9 billion in the first half of the year. This value represents an increase compared to the previous period, reflecting an improvement in the European agri-food trade balance.

According to data from Brussels, EU agri-food exports totaled €117.2 billion during this period. However, this value represents a 2% decrease compared to the first half of 2025.

Regarding imports, these fell by 4%, settling at €93.4 billion. The combination of the surplus increase with the reduction in imports indicates a positive performance of the European agri-food trade balance.

The information was released by the European Commission, which revealed these figures on EU agri-food trade during the first half of the year, highlighting a trend of growth in the Community bloc's trade surplus in this sector.
