A 64-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle on EN13, in Vila Nova de Anha, in the district of Viana do Castelo, and is in serious condition. The victim was struck in front of a restaurant in the area and was thrown several meters by the force of the impact.
The authorities were alerted to the incident and went to the scene to provide assistance to the victim. The woman was taken to a hospital unit, where she remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The National Republican Guard is investigating the circumstances of the hit-and-run to determine the causes and possible responsibilities of the driver involved in the accident.
