Borbense referee Luís Godinho was one of three Portuguese referees selected by UEFA to participate in the Elite Refereeing Summer Course. Alongside João Pinheiro and António Nobre, the Alentejo-based referee will represent Portugal at one of the most important preparation moments for European refereeing for the new season.
The training takes place between August 31 and September 2, in Geneva, Switzerland, bringing together top referees from various European countries. Over the three days, participants will be evaluated and will have access to training sessions aimed at standardizing criteria and guidelines for the season now beginning.
The course's objective is to prepare the referees who will be involved in the main competitions organized by UEFA. The presence of three Portuguese referees at this meeting also constitutes an international recognition of the work developed by national refereeing and the trust placed in its teams.
For Luís Godinho, from Borba, the participation represents another step in a journey of affirmation in national and international football, bringing the name of the Alentejo municipality to one of the main preparation stages for European refereeing.
O árbitro borbense Luís Godinho vai representar Portugal num dos momentos de preparação mais importantes da arbitragem europeia para a nova temporada. O juiz alentejano integra, juntamente com João Pinheiro e António Nobre, o grupo de árbitros portugueses convocados para o Curso de Verão da Arbitragem de Elite da UEFA.
A formação realiza-se entre os dias 31 de agosto e 2 de setembro, em Genebra, na Suíça, reunindo árbitros de topo de vários países europeus.
Durante os três dias, os participantes serão avaliados e terão acesso a sessões de formação destinadas a uniformizar critérios e orientações para a temporada que agora se inicia. O objetivo passa por preparar os árbitros que estarão envolvidos nas principais competições organizadas pela UEFA.
A presença de três árbitros portugueses neste encontro constitui também um reconhecimento internacional do trabalho desenvolvido pela arbitragem nacional e da confiança depositada nas suas equipas de arbitragem.
Para Luís Godinho, natural de Borba, a participação representa mais um passo num percurso de afirmação no futebol nacional e internacional, levando o nome do concelho alentejano a um dos principais palcos de preparação da arbitragem europeia.
