House credit rates rise across all terms

Eco28 August 2026 at 12:34

The Euribor rates, which serve as the basis for calculating the monthly mortgage payment, rose this Friday across the three most common terms. The six-month Euribor reached 2.762%, up 0.016 points from the previous session, while the 12-month rate reached 2.956%, up 0.025 points. The three-month Euribor reached 2.573%, the highest value since March 2025.

In July, the monthly averages of Euribor rates continued to rise, setting at 2.425% for three months, 2.647% for six months and 2.855% for 12 months. These rates are calculated based on the average of the rates at which a set of 21 banks from the Eurozone are willing to lend money to each other.

The European Central Bank kept the three key rates unchanged at the July 23 meeting, as expected by the market. However, investors have now started anticipating an interest rate hike in September.

The next ECB monetary policy meeting is scheduled for September 9-10 in Berlin.
