Identified as main 'war puller' of the CV, man is arrested in Caxias after exchanging gunfire with police

Luiz Felipe Gomes da Silva, aka Simba, identified as the main "war puller" of the Comando Vermelho, was arrested on Thursday by civil and military police in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. Teams from the 59th, 60th, and 66th precincts and the 15th BPM were conducting an integrated operation in the Mangueirinha Complex when they located the suspect on Presidente Kennedy Avenue.

When approached by the officers, Simba reacted by firing at the police, who returned fire. No one was injured in the exchange. After a pursuit, the suspect was caught at the intersection of Presidente Kennedy Avenue and Francisca Thomé Street.

With Simba, authorities seized a pistol, magazines, and a grenade. The information comes from security intelligence, which identifies Simba as the main war leader of the Comando Vermelho. The suspect was arrested and will face charges for Illegal Possession of Firearms and other crimes resulting from the operation.
