The phenomenon occurs only during a full moon, when Earth is positioned between the Sun and the Moon. It is in this alignment that Earth projects its own shadow onto the lunar surface, causing the eclipse.

This type of eclipse occurs when the Moon enters partially into Earth's dark shadow zone, designated as the umbra, but does not become completely covered. In this morning's event, almost the entire lunar surface was affected by the phenomenon.

The phenomenon was observed during the early morning, coinciding with the nighttime period that precedes Friday morning. This partial eclipse represents one of the most impressive astronomical spectacles that can be observed from Earth.
