A climber became trapped on a small ledge about 80 meters from the ground after climbing without safety equipment on Mount Yonah in Georgia, United States. In the high-risk situation, he still seemed to find time to take a "quick peek at his feed" on his phone. The case mobilized emergency teams, who used a drone to locate the man on the west face of the mountain. The rescue video is circulating on social media.
According to the White County Department of Public Safety, the drone was "crucial" in quickly finding the climber and guiding the rescuers. After the location was established, a firefighter rappelled down the rocky wall while other professionals operated a rope system to remove the man from the spot. The operation took about 42 minutes.
