Construction and housing rehabilitation licenses fell 6.9% in the first half of the year, indicating a slowdown in the civil construction sector in Portugal.
However, the number of new dwellings licensed followed the opposite trend, having risen 4% in the same period, which suggests growth in new housing construction.
The data was released by AICCOPN, the sectoral association for civil construction, which monitors the sector's activity in the country.
